This film honours and celebrates the Seven Sisters star cluster, also known as the Pleiades, Matariki, Suburu, and many other names over the globe. The return of the constellation after the winter solstice marks the beginning of the new year for many indigenous cultures of the pacific. As a Wiradjuri artist and storyteller, I am honoured to share my personal dreaming through my art. All music is my own, improvised at Maroubra Beach on the land of the Gadigal and Bidjigal people. The rest of the film was created on my home, Dharug country. But the sky above is all of ours. It’s stories are treasures, older than all of our cultures.
